First Nations hip hop festival Ngana Birrung to light up Western Sydney

Following the success of last year’s shows, First Nations Hip hop festival Ngana Birrung is back in 2023 and bigger than ever, showcasing some of Australia’s best First Nations hip-hop artists in a series of live shows to be remembered. Over three nights in February, an extraordinary line-up will take to the stage in Parramatta, Penrith and Campbelltown. JK-47 returns to headline the music event, playing audience favourites and tracks from his latest album Revision for Regrowth. The music event brings together a stellar lineup of talented and passionate First Nation artists, including, A.Girl, Prodikal-1, Keely, TBreezy, Walkerboy and DJ Kapital J.The lineup brings a mixture of different genres and backgrounds for the audiences to experience, previous artists to have graced the stage include Briggs, Miiesha, DOBBY and Denni. Nagana Birrung (pronounced nin-Gahan bir-rung) is an initiative of City of Parramatta council to elevate First Nations artists and bring together some of the best talent in the country.It was first launched as part of Parramatta nights in 2022 followed by sold out concerts at Bankstown and Blacktown. City of Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr Donna Davis said: “We are so proud of our Nagana Birrung concert series and excited to see it expanded to reach more audiences across Western Sydney. It’s important we provided a platform to nurture, celebrate and highlight our incredibly talented First Nations artists.”The event is open to all ages and (free) tickets are available now.
