NATSIAA is a testament to the richness and diversity of Indigenous artistic expression, spanning a multitude of genres and techniques. A platform for established and emerging artists, fostering growth and development in the Indigenous visual arts sector.

NATSIAA has become a cornerstone of Australia’s cultural calendar, known as the nation’s longest-running competition in its category. It proudly showcases established artists and equally commits to nurturing emerging talents at the start of their artistic journeys.

“Over 40 years ago, MAGNT established these Awards to celebrate the validity and cultural diversity of contemporary Indigenous artistic expression. Since then, Telstra NATSIAA has showcased over 4,000 works by artists belonging to language groups and communities from across the continent,” remarked MAGNT Director Adam Worrall.

“I invite all emerging, mid-career, and established Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists to submit their entries in the 2024 Telstra NATSIAA. So, become a part of NATSIAA history and join us in celebrating and elevating the powerful voices and creative excellence of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists.”

The 2023 Telstra NATSIAA Exhibition is currently open to the public until Sunday, February 18, 2024. This is an incredible opportunity for artists to have their work featured in this prestigious exhibition and to contribute to the ongoing legacy of Indigenous art and culture in Australia.
